The new buzzword which often falls in to our ears and eyes frequently these days is Web 3.0. The world of internet is changing very fast with updates in already available tech specs and introduction of new elements which not only bring exciting opportunities for businesses but also make user experiences better. So is Web 3.0 and the Metaverse, bringing a whole new world of third generation web applications and web services to humanity. In the past the realization that data driven decisions make processes more effective decision making, has laid down the ground for Big Data and is utilization. Going one step further the Web 3.0 is taking shape and the goal is to make more intelligent and connected web space which is built on the foundation of exhaustive data driven and semantic web. The web3.0 ha not yet been implemented, however it holds tremendous opportunities. Even in its nascent stage Web 3.0 holds the keys to a breakthrough transformation of the web. In this articles it’s a small attempt to briefly describe Web3.0 to our readers and highlight the scope of the new technology.
Web3.0 is not yet actualized. It is in the process of getting built and integrated one step at a time. The internet technologies came to existence with coupling local computers and subsequently the journey of web to Web 1.0 and then to web 2.0 which is currently in existence. It took decades of time to implement these developments. The development of Web3.0 is taking place through integration of data available, intelligent machines and the web. Even though it going to be ubiquitous currently a simple example of a small part of this can be IoT which integrates smart homes with home appliances and the cloud. The horizon to which web 3.0 can evolve can be limitless and only time will help us the realize this vast space to which the reach can expand.
Retrospectively when we look at the progress from web to web 3.0 , it has been a very progressive step. There was a time when computers used to take a lot of space, in today´s world teenagers carry smart phones which has more computing capacities than 10 computers in early stage of computing. In Web 1.0 static websites were created and connected to the internet and humans read the information by browsing them on a screen. Web 2.0 brought in the opportunities of dynamic supply and processing of information by coordinating between clients and building a more intuitive web. Web 3.0 aims to address both how sites are built and how they are going to the used by humans as well as by the machines. Web3.0 is going to be more smart and more intelligent.
Properties of Web3.0
Pros and Cons of Web3.0
Similar to any new technology , Web 3.0 also has its benefits and short comings which we think , must be addressed. Lets look at the benefits first
Constraints of Web 3.0
As the development of web 3.0 is at a very nascent stage, it is growing at a very fat rate. The scope and opportunities associated with it has caught the imagination of the new generation of web developers and programmers, however it also poses some challenges to the technology community. Lets take a look at them
Having enumerated both the pros and cons of web3.0 , even though the cons may baffle the general public, according to our understanding the benefits of web3.0 is going to be tremendous and a well planned development, implementation, addressing the privacy aspects etc can bring a new milestone in the history of use of internet and technology and humanity. Whenever a new technology is launched its quite evident that it is used for the good and sometimes used as loopholes as well. It takes time for the society to understand and accept the reality and take measures so that it can be advantageous for everyone. The whole thing will need the participation of the technology community, governmental agencies , private player and corporate entities to work coherently to work in this aspect and build something which enhances human capacities as well as prepares the stage for next positive disruption.
